   That’s awesome! What do you recommend for someone just starting out in hardware. I was looking at some arduino kits but I’m not sure where to start. I’ve done my fair share of soldering and tinkering but not since I was much younger. Any suggestions on interesting kit-type projects for the amateur?

      There are some kits out there, but I don’t know any of these good enough to give a recommendation. If you start with a simple kit you can later easily extend it with additional parts you can find for cheap money on eBay: sensors like accelerometers, GPS receivers, temperature,… actuators like motors and displays.

      Modern breadboards are a flexible way to construct circuits with or without a microcontroller in the center – I’d wished I had had this opportunity when I was younger.

      Places to look for ideas? Well for now I really can recommend Make and Instructables.
